Fitness for Duty

Heroes for Hire, LLC

Physical Agility Test (PAT)

The Physical Agility Test is designed to ensure all security officers maintain the physical ability to safely perform their duties. Officers are held to this standard throughout their employment.

When the PAT is required

  • After being hired

New officers must complete the PAT as part of the onboarding and assignment-readiness process.

  • Every 6 months

Armed officers must pass the PAT twice per year to maintain assignment eligibility.

  • Annually

Unarmed officers must pass the PAT once per year to ensure continued fitness for duty.

  • After extended medical leave

Officers returning from extended medical leave may be required to complete the PAT before resuming full duty.

PAT administration

  • Applicants complete each event in sequence.
  • A 5-minute recovery period is allowed between events.
  • The PAT is designed to confirm that every officer can safely perform the physical duties of their assigned post.
"Throughout my career, I learned that exceptional officers are not born—they are developed. Training is more than teaching policies or checking boxes; it is about building character, confidence, discipline, and sound judgment. At Heroes for Hire, our responsibility is to invest in every officer and prepare them to serve with professionalism and integrity. If we leave every officer better than we found them, we have fulfilled our mission as leaders."
